Noise Ordinance: Know the Rules

96.02: Noise – Unnecessary and excessive noise is prohibited

It shall be unlawful for any person to make, continue or cause to be made or continued any unreasonably loud, excessive, unnecessary, or unusual noise.

A property can lawfully play music on Monday – Sunday from 7 am – 11 pm.

96.02(J)(1) and (J)(2): Power tools and landscape equipment (Residential/private non-commercial/commercial)

Residential properties can lawfully operate noise-producing tools on:

Monday – Friday from 8 am – 8 pm

Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays: 9 am – 8 pm

Commercial properties can lawfully operate noise-producing tools on:

Monday – Friday from 8 am – 7 pm

Saturdays from 9 am – 7 pm

No commercial operations shall be permitted on Sundays or national holidays.

96.04(A): Construction Activity

Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm: Allowed

Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays: Construction is prohibited.

Penalties

First Offense: $250

Subsequent offenses within 12 months: $500
