North Bay Village Community Project in Partnership with Argentine Football Association Recognized as Finalist for 2023 North American Soccer Business and Media Awards

North Bay Village, FL – North Bay Village has partnered with the Argentine Football Association (AFA) to bring unprecedented benefits and amenities to the North Bay Village community, including new green space enhancements and recreational services for our residents.
The NBV Community Center and Park project, set to break ground in 2024, has now been nominated as a finalist for the ‘North American Soccer Community Initiative of the Year Award.’ This award recognizes an organization that has made significant contributions to its local community through various initiatives.
The project is a transformative public-private partnership that will bring new infrastructure and amenities to Treasure Island Elementary School (TIES) including a state-of-the-art community center that will emerge as a focal point for social engagement, cultural events and recreational activities for students and families in the Village.
“This recognition affirms the value of our partnership with the Argentine Football Association, in leveraging the power of sport for social good,” said North Bay Village Mayor Brent Latham. “We know this innovative project will provide immense community benefit, revitalize our school and surrounding areas, and provide invaluable and abundant shared spaces that our Village needs.”
Residents can look forward to a sprawling community park, complete with a recreational trail/exercise path and green space that will serve as a hub for outdoor activities. This includes a plug-and-play after-school program for TIES students and extensive recreational programming run by AFA’s sports professionals. Community members will have access to full-sized illuminated playfields, padel and pickleball courts and several smaller multipurpose fields.
The North American Soccer Business and Media Awards serve as the only award program for remarkable achievements and continuous progress exclusively within North American Soccer. North Bay Village’s nomination as ‘Community Initiative of the Year,’ recognizes the Village for demonstrating creativity, sustainability, and measurable impact.
“The North American Soccer Business and Media Awards are proud to recognize North Bay Village as a finalist in our Community Initiative of the Year category,” said North American Soccer Business and Media Awards Co-Founder and Miami native Raquel Braun. “Their dedication to using soccer as a tool for social engagement and community development aligns perfectly with the ethos of the SMBAs.
