Resilience

Office of Resilience

The Office of Resilience helps strengthen North Bay Village’s ability to prepare for and recover from flooding, storms, and other challenges that impact our community. Working closely with the Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) director, we develop and implement strategies that help the Village recover and adapt to shocks and stressors such as tidal flooding and hurricanes.
Our work includes upgrading stormwater and roadway systems, improving utilities, advancing bayfront protection measures, modernizing Village codes, and integrating practical, community‑oriented resilience solutions into Village projects. We also collaborate with partner agencies, support funding opportunities, and work alongside the Sustainability & Resilience Task Force to promote a more resilient and sustainable future.
The Office is led by Chief Resilience Officer Christina Viala and operates within the Department of Capital Improvement Projects.
