Commissioner Andy Daro’s final act on the dais was presenting the Unsung Hero Award to Sandra Garcia Pardo, with members of the Animal Welfare Advisory Board in the audience cheering her on!
Sandra is a longtime Animal Welfare Advisory Board volunteer who feeds and cares for our Village’s community cats at least twice a week, rain or shine. She steps in when other volunteers can’t, helps get cat food to fellow caregivers, and replaces feeding stations and water bowls without a word when they go missing. As an artist and art teacher, she has also shared her talent at the North Bay Village Chamber of Commerce art show, passed job leads to local artists, and bought gifts and art supplies for her students out of her own pocket – never asking for recognition like a true unsung hero.
Thank you for everything you do for our Village, Sandra!
