The NBVPD will increase Police Activity Visibility and Patrols at all the schools in NBV. While there is no specific threat to our community, the NBVPD is working proactively to best serve our residents in the Heart of the Bay.

North Bay Village is deeply saddened by the tragic school shooting in Nashville Tennessee, which came at the cost of six innocents – three of them young children. Our hopes, thoughts and prayers are with the families of those that have fallen and we grieve with the community that has been so deeply impacted by senseless violence. 

In response to this latest episode of school firearms violence, the NBVPD will increase Police Activity, Visibility and Patrols at all the learning facilities in our jurisdiction. In addition, all Village Employees have been directed to maintain vigilance and immediately report any suspicious / concerning activity. Public Safety is everyone’s responsibility and at NBV we use the Team approach to keep the community we serve protected to the greatest extent possible. 

These are difficult and challenging times with a notable increase in crime/violence across the country and although there is no specific threat/intelligence that raises concern for our community, the NBVPD is working proactively to best serve all who live, work, play and transition through our municipality in the Heart of the Bay.
