North Bay Village Police Officers join procession for fallen Miami-Dade Police Detective

Dozens of law enforcement officers joined in a procession for fallen Miami-Dade police detective Cesar ‘Echy’ Echaverry.

Detective Echaverry, 29, was shot and killed in the line of duty earlier this week after chasing down a robbery suspect in Liberty City.

Officers from the North Bay Village Police Department participated in the procession outside Jackson Memorial Hospital and Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The NBVPD joins the rest of the law enforcement community in mourning the loss of Detective Eachaverry, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service. We will never forget his service, and stand with our partner, the Miami-Dade Police Department, and the Echaverry family during this difficult time.

The NBVPD remains resolute in our commitment to serve and protect our community and delivering excellent public safety services with fairness, integrity and respect.

This tragedy is a painful reminder that the potential threats and dangers of our service are real and always present.
Rest in Peace Officer Echavery, we’ve got the watch.
