North Bay Village Police Department Named Finalist in Florida Traffic Safety Challenge

North Bay Village, FL – We are proud to announce that the North Bay Village Police Department has once
again been selected as one of the top three finalists in the prestigious Florida Law Enforcement Traffic
Safety Challenge! This Challenge recognizes agencies that excel in developing and implementing traffic
safety programs aimed at reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities in their communities.

Last year, our NBVPD Traffic Team led the Police Department’s charge with the 2024 Traffic Safety
Challenge, culminating in a runner-up finish among all agencies participating in our category. This year,
the NBVPD worked diligently to not only become a repeat finalist but with hopes of achieving first place.
This recognition is important for our residents because it directly reflects our commitment to your safety
on North Bay Village roads. Our traffic safety initiatives have resulted in reduced traffic accidents and
related injuries in our community, enhanced pedestrian and cyclist safety measures, more effective
enforcement of traffic laws that protect all road users, improved emergency response capabilities for
traffic incidents, and implementation of evidence-based strategies that address our specific local traffic
concerns.

When you see our officers conducting traffic enforcement, remember that these efforts are part of a
comprehensive, award-winning approach to keeping everyone in North Bay Village safe.
The North Bay Village Police Department has been invited to attend the Traffic Safety Challenge event
this July. The event will include a comprehensive training session, vendor demonstrations, and a formal
recognition ceremony where the final rankings will be announced.

Corporal Cherasia, Officer Cabrera, Officer Guante, and Officer Borrell), and all other PD members who
contributed to this outstanding achievement.
