Miami-Dade’s First Female Sheriff Sworn In; North Bay Village Police Leadership Attends Historic Ceremony

North Bay Village Police Department leadership joined local law enforcement officials to witness a historic moment as Rosie Cordero-Stutz was sworn in as Miami-Dade County’s new Sheriff, marking a significant milestone as both the first woman to hold this position and Miami-Dade County’s first Sheriff in over 60 years.
The North Bay Village delegation included Mayor Rachel Streitfeld, Chief Carlos Noriega, Deputy Chief Sam Bejar, Mjr. Bobby Jenkins, Lt. Manny Casias, and Neighborhood Resource Officer Jessica Polanco, who attended the ceremony to show their support for this groundbreaking appointment.
In her new role, Sheriff Cordero-Stutz will take on the crucial responsibility of overseeing county-wide law enforcement operations and managing the jail system.
