ADA Sidewalk Project Update

We are happy to announce that for the first time EVER there are sidewalks in front of Vogel Park for improved accessibility. This is thanks to the NBV ADA Sidewalk Construction Project, brought on by the successful advocacy efforts of the Commission to secure state funding.

The purpose of the ADA Sidewalk Construction Project is to create sidewalks that are friendly for all, including individuals with disabilities. They also encourage safety and walkability, as many of the areas in which we are constructing sidewalks did not have sidewalks, to begin with, or had sidewalks in disrepair. At Vogel Park, in particular, these new sidewalks will make it safer and easier for parents to walk with their children and use strollers.

These new and upgraded sidewalks are being constructed on Treasure Island and Harbor Island and will be completed by the end of June. They are part of our overarching mission through NBV100 to improve livability in North Bay Village.
