North Bay Village Inaugurates New Leadership in Spirited Ceremony

North Bay Village held its official swearing-in ceremony this week, marking a significant moment of a transition of leadership and community unity. Community members and stakeholders gathered to watch as we turned the page on a new chapter for NBV.
The ceremony began with meaningful invocations from religious leaders from the Miami Beach Mosque and Chabad of North Bay Village, setting a tone of inclusivity and spiritual reflection.
Distinguished speakers including former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally Haymen, outgoing Mayor Brent Latham, Commissioner at-Large Goran Cuk, and Harbor Island Commissioner Andy Daro offered remarks that celebrated the community’s past achievements and future potential.
Dr. Richard Chervony was sworn-in as North Bay Island Commissioner, continuing his years of dedicated service to the Village. Doris Acosta was introduced as the new Treasure Island Commissioner. Mayor Rachel Streitfeld, who was officially inducted into her role by the Honorable Judge Jeffrey Streitfeld (Ret.).
The ceremony symbolized not just a change in municipal leadership, but a recommitment to community values, collaborative governance, and continued progress for North Bay Village.
