Weather Update and Flood Preparation: Landscaping and Debris

Meteorologists are forecasting heavy rainfall for South Florida in the coming days. North Bay Village is taking proactive measures to prevent flooding and we’re encouraging residents to flood prep and keep debris away from the streets over the weekend.
Precautionary Measures Taken:
-Public Works will be keeping drain filters clear throughout the Village.
-A high-volume pump has been installed on North Bay Island as a precautionary measure.
-An additional high-volume pump has been rented and will be installed on Treasure Island, specifically in the area of South Treasure and West Treasure Drives.
Flood Preparation:
Sandbags are available for residents in front of the dog park.
Landscaping and Debris:
Do NOT leave any debris or tree branches at the end of the street.
If you have landscaping work done over the weekend, avoid putting yard waste by the curb.
This precaution is due to concerns about flooding potentially causing debris to drift.
Remember, these measures are precautionary, but the current forecast warrants this level of preparation. Stay safe and be prepared!
