Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava have declared a State of Emergency for multiple areas of South Florida, including Miami-Dade County, due to dangerous flooding conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch in effect through Friday evening. Two consecutive days of over 5 inches of rainfall has saturated the ground, leaving little capacity to absorb additional water. With more rainfall expected through the week, residents should avoid unnecessary travel if possible.
