North Bay Village rolls out new Parks & Rec program, offers free youth sports and activities to the community
North Bay Village, FL – For the first time ever, North Bay Village will be offering multiple recreational services to the community, including a competitive soccer program and weekend program free for residents and Treasure Island Elementary School students!
The Village has developed a robust Parks & Recreation Department that will offer free activities in our parks to promote physical and mental health, build connections and make memories.
The Village will now offer a competitive recreational soccer program for kids 5-14 every Tuesday and Thursday at the TIES athletic field. North Bay Village youth residents will be offered a discounted rate, including a discount per sibling.
Additionally, this school year, Mayor Brent Latham is sponsoring a free youth soccer program for ages 5-14. ‘Mayor Latham’s Free Saturday Morning Soccer,’ will be offered every Saturday morning at the TIES athletic field. This program is completely free for residents and TIES students. Non-residents can register for just $10 a week.
“We couldn’t be more excited about our new recreation programming, designed to enhance quality of life for our residents here at the Heart of the Bay,” said Mayor Brent Latham. “I’m especially excited to be able to make weekend soccer free for all our families – kid’s shouldn’t ever have to pay to play.”
The new recreation programming also includes ‘Yoga in the Park’ every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning in Vogel Park, free for residents.
Kids ages 5-12 can also register for a daily summer camp June through August, this offers outdoor games, field trips and themed parks.
All participants interested in our soccer programs must register on the Village website and provide a signed waiver.
