North Bay Village Commission has recognized September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to honor children whose lives have been lost and those who have been affected by the disease. This month, we recognize that these burdens are shared by countless dedicated healthcare professionals, organizations, charities, and parent advocacy groups that support patients and families by offering advice, encouragement, hope, and financial assistance and working tirelessly to lift the spirits of children who have cancer. During our September Commission meeting, our Mayor Brent Latham, Vice Mayor Dr. Richard Chervony and our Commissioners honored a young girl, our ‘hero’ Megan, as she continues to battle pediatric cancer. North Bay Village recognized this disease’s devastating impact on members of our community and the importance of increased research on Childhood Cancer.
