Congrats to our NBVPD Officer of the Quarter Marcel Ascanio and both NBVPD David Floyd & Officer Ascanio for Officer of the Month

Congratulations to our NBVPD Officer of the Quarter, Officer Marcel Ascanio, who was selected as the recipient for April 2023 to June 2023.

This award recognizes the top performers from the department during each quarter. The North Bay Village Police Department has reinstated an Officer of the Quarter Award as part of our continued commitment to recognize the outstanding service delivered by our excellent team of law enforcement professionals.

During the past few months, Officer Ascanio has been involved in two life-saving incidents. In both cases, the lives of North Bay Village residents were saved because of his actions and supporting actions by other NBVPD personnel. Officer Ascanio was nominated for the prestigious Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police Officer of the Month Award after both incidents.  

Both NBVPD Corporal David Floyd and Officer Ascanio were selected to receive the award for MDCACP Officer of the Month Award for May 2023.

We thank both law enforcement officers for their accomplishment and we are very proud to be continuously recognized as leaders in safety excellence in South Florida.
