MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTIONS

In accordance with the North Bay Village Charter and Code of Ordinance, the Village holds municipal general elections every two years, in even-numbered years in November. The Village Clerk is the local Supervisor of Elections for all municipal elections. Elections are conducted in accordance with the provisions of Title IX, Florida Statutes (Chapters 97-106).

The Village is governed by a Commission of five (5) members, all of whom shall be electors of the Village. There shall be a Harbor Island Commissioner, a North Bay Island Commissioner, a Treasure Island Commissioner, a Commissioner at-large, and a Mayor.

Starts at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, through 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024.

End of Qualifying Period Memorandum 

The Municipal General Election will be held in conjunction and in accordance with the provisions of the North Bay Village Charter, the Miami-Dade County Home Rule Charter, and applicable laws. Any qualified elector in Miami-Dade County who is a bona fide resident of North Bay Village is eligible to vote in this election.

The qualifying period for the Municipal General Election of November 5, 2024, officially ended, on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 12:00 Noon.

The following candidates have qualified:

For Mayor:

• Rachel Streitfeld (Elected unopposed)

The Mayor’s term of office will be two years. 

North Bay Island Commissioner 

• Jose Alvarez (Candidate withdrew from the race)

• Richard Chervony (Elected unopposed) 

The following candidates are running for office in the upcoming Election:

Treasure Island Commissioner (vote for 1)

• Doris Acosta

• Jose Parada

Pursuant to §5.12 of the Village Charter, the candidate receiving a majority of the votes for each Commissioner seat (North Bay Islands and Treasure Islands) shall be elected to office for a four (4) year term. 

CANDIDATE CAMPAIGN REPORTS

In accordance with Ordinance No. 2024-001, candidates seeking the Office of Mayor or Village Commission, as well as any other entities required to submit campaign reports under Florida Statutes 106.07(2)(a)2, shall file their campaign treasure’s report electronically with the Village Clerk.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 2024-050, a Special Election has been called, at which time the following Charter Amendment proposal will be submitted to the qualified electors of North Bay Village.
