Treasure Island Road Improvements Coming Soon

The North Bay Village Mayor & Commission have given the green light to a project that will give our streets a much-needed facelift.
The Village will be resurfacing roads on Treasure Island, resulting in smoother drives and better-looking streets for all of us. The Commission approved the project and selected Craven Thompson & Associates (CTA) to design the improvements.
CTA started work in May and they’re aiming to have the design plans finished by the end of August. After that, the Village will move on to the construction phase, hoping to start work in late Fall.
“Treasure Island roads have needed resurfacing for years. This project, which residents have rightfully clamored for, has been delayed as we study the future and urgent storm water needs of our islands in an effort to assure taxpayer resources are well invested. We are now ready to resurface for the midterm and everyone is pleased to see this project get underway later this year.” said Mayor Brent Latham.
The projects involves evaluating our current pavement conditions. Some areas might need complete reconstruction, while others will only require removing the top layer of asphalt and replacing it with a fresh one. You’ll also see stamped asphalt crosswalks.
The project will focus on the following streets:
Adventure Avenue, Cutlass Avenue, Hispanola Avenue, Mutiny Avenue, South Treasure Drive, West Treasure Drive, Bounty Avenue.
The Village will keep our residents updated as the project progresses. Get ready for smoother, safer and more attractive roads.
