Sunshine Meeting Recap: Waterway Issues Surrounding NBV

ICYMI: Earlier this week, the NBV Commission held a sunshine meeting with agencies across the County and State to address waterway issues from commercial vessels surrounding NBV. Specifically, the meeting focused on floating billboards and jet ski operations. This meeting is just one example of our enduring commitment to protect our waterways and remove nuisance vessels.

Meeting Highlights:

• NBV PD will be ramping up ticketing and enforcement in the Bay and partnering with other agencies to conduct more sweeps along the Bay
• Mayor Brent Latham will be following up with the Fish and Wildlife Commission and Miami-Dade’s Department of Environmental Resources Management about the current advertising barge
• The Commission will be advocating for legislative changes to address the root of the nuisance issues and legality of floating businesses under the County code
